Clovis man accused of driving through business' window

CLOVIS - A Clovis man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly creating a drive-through window at a Main Street business.

Tony Kitts, 62, was booked into the Curry County Adult Detention Center Tuesday, about three hours after he allegedly drove through the front window of Bullet Bob Has It. He was booked on an unrelated warrant for failure to pay fines and fees, and released Friday afternoon.

According to information from Clovis Police Capt. Roman Romero:

• Dispatch received a call at 1:37 p.m. from the business that a white van hopped the curb, crashed through one of its front windows and fled the scene.

• Based on a thorough witness description of the vehicle, police located Kitts within an hour and conducted an interview regarding the crash. He was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, no insurance, expired registration and driving on a revoked license.

Nobody was hurt in the crash, but store employee Victoria Carrizales said less than a minute before the crash a couple of customers were browsing in the area where the van entered the building.

No attorney was listed for Kitts in court records.
