Agee named girls co-player of year

FARWELL - Farwell senior Presley Agee has been chosen the girls co-player of the year for Texas District 3-2A.

Agee shared the honor with senior Madalyn Richards of Vega.

The Lady Blue went 19-11 overall and tied for the district title with Vega at 9-1, losing a tiebreaker playoff game to the Lady Longhorns for state playoff seeding purposes.

On Jan. 22, Agee reached the 2,000-point milestone for her Farwell career in a home win over Olton.

Farwell also had two other special awards in the selections. Sophomore Charlie May Trimble was chosen the district's defensive MVP, while freshman Chloee Whitten earned co-newcomer of the year honors with sophomore Kylee Noack of Olton.

Three players from Farwell and two from Bovina earned spots on the 11-player all-district team - senior Valeria Ruiz and sophomores Deavyn Bradley and Jaelyn Smith for the Lady Blue, and seniors Ireydi Vela and AnaGabby Cecenas for the Fillies.

Members of the five-player all-defensive team included sophomore Maryn Terry of Farwell and junior Naveah Liscano of Bovina.
