ENMU named military friendly

PORTALES — Eastern New Mexico University has been named one of six 2021–22 Military Friendly schools, and received the organization’s silver rating.

Institutions earning the designation were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,200 schools participated in the 2021–22 survey, with 747 earning the designation.

The list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at militaryfriendly.com. Eastern New Mexico was listed as a small public school, along with New Mexico Tech. Other New Mexico schools listed include the University of New Mexico, San Juan College, Central New Mexico Community College and Olympian Academy of Cosmetology and Barber.

“Eastern New Mexico University is thrilled to secure a Military Friendly designation for our programs and campus services,” ENMU President Patrice Caldwell said in a school release. “This designation brings high-caliber students to the university, including veterans, active duty military and dependents, National Guard and Reserves, and survivors of disabled or deceased veterans; we welcome them and the opportunity to serve their educational needs. Our partnership with the military community is a point of pride for ENMU and always will be.”
