CLOVIS — A Clovis man was arrested Thursday on charges he fatally stabbed his neighbor over a dispute involving the suspect’s family.
Tonekwueme Hamilton, 43, is being held without bond at the Curry County Adult Detention Center for the death of Jose Fernando Sena, 46, of Clovis.
Hamilton made his first appearance Friday afternoon at Curry County Magistrate Court. He will remain at the CCADC unless provided bond in a pretrial detention hearing this week in district court.
According to an affidavit filed Friday in Curry County Magistrate Court:
• The Clovis Police Department was dispatched at 12:37 p.m. Thursday for an unconscious subject on Townsgate Plaza in front of the Main Street Town Homes. Officers arrived to find a deceased male, later identified as Sena, laying in the street with apparent knife wounds to his chest and abdomen area, along with a pair of kitchen knives that appeared to have blood.
• Hamilton, who was standing outside, told the responding officer Sena lived next door and lived by himself. When the officer asked Hamilton if he had heard anything, Hamilton responded, “It was me, sir,” and admitted stabbing Sena because “he bragged on killing my brother.”
