United Way seeks nominations

CLOVIS — The United Way of Eastern New Mexico is seeking nominations for the Patricia Bazar Volunteer of the Year award.

The award, created following the sudden death of Bazar, honors individuals in Curry or Roosevelt counties who give of themselves and their time to multiple community organizations and causes.

Nomination forms will be accepted through Friday, and are available at unitedwayenm.org. The award will be presented April 23 in conjunction with its Neighbors in Action-National Volunteer Week Award ceremony. The United Way will make a $500 donation to the charity of the recipient’s choice.

“Patricia was an amazing individual with a heart of gold and a compassion to serve her community selflessly. Not only was she a friend to myself, but to so many others in our local communities,” said Casey Peacock, UWENM’s Volunteer Action Center Coordinator. “Patricia worked tirelessly to put the needs of others above herself and that is just a part of the wonderful legacy she left behind.”
