WICHITA, Kan. — Former Portales Ram and Kansas Wesleyan freshman Julian Urioste was honored Monday by the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference as its defensive player of the week.
Urioste, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound freshman defensive back, had eight solo tackles and a 64-yard interception return for a touchdown that put the Coyotes up 14-0 early in their 49-19 win over Tabor.
Urioste was one of two players from the No. 24 Coyotes receiving KCAC honors, along with Special Teams Player of the Week Aaron Main.
