PORTALES — Eastern New Mexico University’s Department of Theatre and Digital Filmmaking have organized a regional talent show to be performed this weekend virtually.
The “Portales Showcase: Talent of the Eastern Plains” show will be held on Zoom 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. To register for the free event, visit enmu.edu/theatrelive. Registrants must pick a specific performance, but they can register for additional performances if desired.
“The showcase allows audiences to see the variety of talent in Portales,” ENMU theatre professor Anne Beck said in a school release. “The showcase builds community with good spirits and fun.
Performances include:, Rein Anevay (flow art with hula-hoop), Neil Rutland (drums and poetry), Autumn Elam (song, “Shock”), Christian Rushin (clarinet solo, “The Moon on Thine Wings”), Yolanda Chavez and Fusion World Dance Company (dance, “Bollywood”), Kyra Gentry (piano, “Mazurka in B flat major”), Jon Barr (magic act), Heather Hagler (tap dance), Kyra and Cindy Gentry (comedy scene, “Stella Wind”), Yolanda Chavez and Fusion World Dance Company (Spanish dance).
