A Bovina man died Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash on New Mexico 77, near the intersection of Curry Road G.
A news release from Curry County Sheriff Wesley Waller stated Garrett Viss, 65, of Bovina was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene.
The accident happened about noon Tuesday.
According to the news release:
“The investigation has determined that (Viss) was traveling west on NM 77 in a 2008 GMC pickup. In the area of Curry Road G, (a marked construction zone), the vehicle left the roadway, entered the soft shoulder and overturned.”
The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing, the release stated.
