SANTA FE — Texico’s baseball team rallied for three runs in the top of the sixth and handed St. Michael’s a 4-2 setback on Saturday, improving to 3-0 for the season.
Senior Josh Myers delivered the big blow of the inning, a two-run single which put the Wolverines (3-0) in front for good.
Seniors David Davalos and Seth Griego shared pitching duties for Texico, with Davalos going the first four innings and Griego finishing up to collect the victory.
The Wolverines broke through for a run in the top of the fourth, but the Horsemen (5-3) took a 2-1 lead on a two-run single in the bottom half of the inning.
Texico’s next outing is at 4 p.m. on Thursday when the Wolverines entertain Gateway Christian.
