Man arrested after disturbance

CLOVIS — A Clovis man was arrested Tuesday evening following a disturbance at a local eatery.

Jordy Hayman, 32, faces charges of felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful carrying of a firearm in a licensed liquor establishment. He was released Wednesday on a recognizance bond, and is due back in Curry County Magistrate Court for a preliminary examination Thursday morning.

Hayman declined comment when contacted by The News.

According to a criminal complain filed Wednesday in Curry County Magistrate Court:

• A relative of Hayman contacted police Tuesday afternoon and said Hayman had recently left after saying some troubling things and leaving with a gun.

• Law enforcement was dispatched later to K-Bob’s Steakhouse, where a former law enforcement officer said he spoke with Hayman. He said Hayman told everybody to leave the bar area so they wouldn’t get hurt and then revealed the gun in his waistband. The former officer said Hayman asked him to take the gun away from him, and he did.

• After Hayman noticed law enforcement vehicles outside, he left the restaurant and was taken into custody without further incident.
