Clovis to hold study sessions

CLOVIS — The Clovis city commission will hold a pair of study sessions over the next two weeks, according to city releases.

The sessions are scheduled for 5:15 p.m. Tuesday and 5:15 p.m. June 30 at the North Annex of the Clovis-Carver Public Library.

The Tuesday study session will feature discussion of a land trust. The trust would help in matters associated with a Readiness Environmental Protection Initiative effort to protect groundwater in the paleochannel surrounding Cannon Air Force Base.

A release from Curry County notes a quorum of its county commission may be at the meeting, but that no policy decisions will be made.

The June 30 study session will be a joint effort of the city commission and the planning and zoning commission, and will cover local jurisdiction rules and policies related to legalized adult use of cannabis in Clovis.

For information on either study session, contact the city manager’s office at 575-769-7828.
