Clovis man pleads to pair of felonies

CLOVIS — A Clovis man pled guilty Tuesday to a pair of felonies, according to a release from the district attorney's office.

Kevin Perry, 28, pleaded to charges of arson and aggravated burglary and was sentenced to 10 years by District Judge Drew Tatum.

According to a release from the office:

• During the investigation of a July 2019 burglary, Curry County sheriff's deputies found a residence had several items taken from it and set afire. Perry was found down the road from the house, and admitted to breaking into the residence and setting it on fire.

• The aggravated burglary charge stemmed from an incident this January, when Clovis police officers were dispatched to a residence. The homeowner stated a man who was later identified as Perry was on the floor of the residence with various weapons that were the homeowner's property.

The sentence included a one-year enhancement for habitual offender status.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney, Jake Boazman, and Perry was represented by criminal defense attorney Sandra Gallagher of Clovis.
