CLOVIS — Police said Tuesday night they had identified the vehicle and the driver involved in a Sunday night hit-and-run that led to the death of a Clovis woman.
Martha Castillo, 68, died at the scene of the Sunday night hit-and-run on the 2900 block of Thornton Street.
A Clovis Police Department release did not disclose the driver’s identity or state whether anybody had been arrested. A message sent Friday to the CPD regarding the case was not immediately returned.
District Attorney Andrea Reeb told The News she would have a meeting with law enforcement next week regarding the case.
According to the original CPD release, a witness said Castillo was hit by a southbound pickup, dark in color, as she attempted to cross the street. Castillo died at the scene and while police were en route a Clovis Fire Department ambulance heading to an unrelated call came upon the scene.
