Police still investigating Sunday homicide

CLOVIS - Police on Tuesday continued to investigate a Sunday morning homicide in Clovis.

Police said they responded to a call at 125 El Camino at 10:40 a.m. Sunday. That's where they found 28-year-old Ivan Leuvano with "multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso area."

Leuvano died soon after arriving at Plains Regional Medical Center via ambulance.

An afternoon release from the Clovis police that identified Leuvano as the victim said the 9th Judicial District Major Crimes Unit has been activated to investigate the incident. District Attorney Andrea Reeb told The News Tuesday morning no arrests had been made in connection to the shooting.

No warrants were filed in connection with the case Tuesday, and persons who were at the home said they knew nothing about the incident.

Police on Sunday issued a news release asking for the public's help in locating a vehicle seen in the area where the shooting occurred. The vehicle is a black 2010 Nissan Titan Pro-4X with a receiver hitch in the rear and running boards.

Anybody with information on the case is asked to contact Lt. Trevor Thron at 575-763-9481, call Crime Stoppers at 575-763-7000 or use the Clovis Police Department's new Tip-411 to remain anonymous.
