ENMU nursing program receives accreditation
PORTALES — Eastern New Mexico University has received accreditation for its Bachelor of Science in Nursing Completion Program and its Master of Science in Nursing Program from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, according to a school release.
The accreditation from ACEN is through spring 2029, when the next site visit is scheduled. The university is required to submit annual reports and various updates.
“The nursing program faculty and staff have worked diligently to establish evidence-based nursing curricula which have currency and relevancy for today’s nursing practice” Nursing Program Director Kristin Kuhlmann said in the release. “We could not maintain this level of excellence without the support and expertise found within our department, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and ENMU’s academic leadership.”
According to the ACEN website, the commission’s national standards mean students can easily transfer credits between schools and be more competitive in the job market when they complete their programs.
