Applications open for grants
SANTA FE —The New Mexico Finance Authority has opened applications for the final round of the $200 million Business Recovery Grant Program.
Businesses and nonprofits have until Dec. 7 to apply for the program, according to an authority release.
The program, created by the state to help small business owners and nonprofit organizations during the pandemic, offers grants that can be applied to many needs — including rent, lease or mortgage payments, or financial flexibility for companies to rebuild their workforce.

Roosevelt to hold luncheon
PORTALES — The Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce will hold a luncheon next week covering how recreational cannabis may affect business in Roosevelt County.
The luncheon is scheduled for noon Nov. 12 at Eastern New Mexico University’s Campus Union Ballroom. The banquet includes a $15 charge.
Listed as panel discussion members are Portales City Manager Sara Austin, Ben Lewinger of the New Mexico Cannabis Chamber, three dispensary owners and experts in grow operations and employee certification.
