Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Curry County Association of Educational Retirees
During the November CCAER meeting, Charles Nwankwo shared his educational and career journey beginning in Nigeria to his present position as president of Clovis Community College (CCC) and as a liaison to help qualified people get employment in the workforce. As president, Nwankwo spoke about ideas to help CCC grow and prosper in the coming years. Some of the ideas being implemented are wrap-around services, expanding the career choices, building up the early college program (dual High school/college credits program), and expanding the STEM offerings. He’s also looking into eventually establishing a dairy program.
The next meeting will be Dec. 7, when the Clovis High School choir will perform.
CCAER meets 11 a.m. on the first Tuesday of the month at K-Bob’s Restaurant.
