Portales to decide on redistricting plan Nov. 16

PORTALES — The city of Portales has made a trio of proposed plans available for the coming redistricting process, as required by the decennial U.S. Census process.

The Portales City Council plans to decide on a plan at its Nov. 16 meeting. The proposed plans have been developed by Research & Polling, Inc., to divide the city into four geographic election wards with approximately equal population in each.

The plans are posted at portalesnm.gov, and comments are encouraged by Friday to [email protected].

A public hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Memorial Building, with the council meeting scheduled to follow at 6:30 p.m.
