DA's office employees recognized

CLOVIS - Two employees of the Ninth Judicial District Attorney's Office were recognized for statewide rewards last week during a New Mexico District Attorney's training conference in Albuquerque.

The awards for Adriana Munoz and Eleisa Munoz, no relation, were voted on by the state's 14 district attorneys.

Adriana Munoz was awarded "Investigator of the Year" with special attention given to her work obtaining a confession in a 2015 double homicide cold case and her assistance to District Attorney Andrea Reeb in prosecuting Rio Arriba Sheriff James Lujan.

Eleisa Munoz was awarded with "Advocate of the Year" with special attention given to her lining up victims who testified to the parole board regarding Senate Bill 47. The defeated bill proposed to allow any juvenile sentenced as an adult to be granted a parole hearing after 10 years and if denied a parole review every two years following.
