Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Heading into the Thanksgiving holiday, we asked readers on our Facebook page what had them thankful this year. Most were simple, some were elaborate, but all had something worth sharing.
Here’s a sampling of local thanks:
Dave Rossen: I am thankful for perseverance. Not only for personal perseverance, but perseverance within the hearts of the community. We’ve been dealt a great blow and have all had major setbacks, yet we continue to thrive and support one another through seemingly debilitating times. I am thankful for community.
Matthew Germain: I am thankful for my friends, and family. My incredible girlfriend. As well as my job, and the one above all for allowing me to do things I thought I'd never been able to do.
Todd Ulses: The love of friends and family! The knowledge of our medical professionals.
Dawn Kuchta: I’m thankful for God, my family, health and friends!
Dorothy Acy-Ross: I am thankful for sunrises and sunsets! I am thankful for raindrops and puddles! I am thankful for the brisk weather and walks in the park!
Diana Romero: I am thankful for everything and everyone during these difficult times!
Mikayla Mountjoy: I’m thankful for a community that comes together and supports with reckless abandon at the drop of a hat. I'm thankful for the roof over my head and the love I receive from my family and fur babies.
Anna DePalma Jennings: I’m thankful for all the people out there working and serving the community.. I'm thankful for my family, friends and my health. I'm thankful that we are finished cutting milo and getting ready to strip cotton. I'm thankful I have a job.
Sherry Montoya: I’m thankful for the small things and the value of life! My family and my friends. The children; what would the world be without children?
Bryan Pearson: How do you narrow down so many blessings? I'm thankful for good fulfilling conversations, for a family to love and that love me back, for a community that's so full of good-hearted people in spite of always being told their shortcomings, for a home/shelter, for a God who knows me inside and out and still chooses to love me! For a wife that nurtures my home, my mind, and my children on the best and worst of days. For friends and all they bring into life. For knowledge, wisdom, and a sense of humor. Anyone who can bring a smile is a true gift giver, but mostly I'm thankful for my children — their smiles, their love, their hearts and imaginations, their unconditional love, their thoughts and stories, the way they need us to need them. I'm thankful to live.
Chad Samora: My two front teeth!
