1966: From the School News column in the Clovis News-Journal:

• A chapter on polygons was completed Wednesday by Mr. Fred Brumbelow’s fifth period plane geometry class. From the chapter the class learned that a polygon is a closed broken line in a plane, and that it may have any number of sides and angles.

• Applied genetics is the main topic of discussion in Miss JoAnne Miller’s biology classes. The classes discuss different topics such as plant and animal breeding, out and inbreeding, line breeding, and production of new plants by crossing different species.

• Classification of pronouns has recently been the study in Mrs. Ralph Balfanz’s English II classes. She explained to her students that this included the personal pronouns, adjective pronouns and interrogative pronouns.

• Spanish Christmas songs have recently been sung in Henry Juan Pena’s Spanish classes. Pena prepared three mimeographed sheets of all the traditional Christmas songs in Spanish. “These songs break the monotony of the daily routine and put us in a better mood during the Christmas season,” stated Pena concerning the songs.
