OLTON — Farwell’s girls continued to roll through their District 3-2A schedule on Tuesday night with a 60-25 win over Olton.
Leading 13-8 at the quarter, the Lady Blue (24-4, 5-0 district) posted a 30-2 second-period advantage over the Lady Mustangs.
Junior Charlie May Trimble scored 12 points and freshman Bella Jaime added 10 for Farwell. Seven others contributed to the scoring column for the Lady Blue.
Junior Kylee Noack led Olton (8-10, 3-2) with eight points.
A boys game was postponed due to a conflict with officials and will be made up at a later date.
In other area girls games on Tuesday:
Texico 50, New Mexico Military 30 — Junior Catelyn Breshears tallied 16 points and sophomore Kaya New had 11 as the Lady Wolverines (5-8) opened a 31-point lead through three stanzas at Roswell.
Sophomore Leylani Baca scored 10 points for the Lady Colts (0-5).
Melrose 56, Grady 31 — At Melrose, the Lady Buffs erased a one-point deficit by outscoring Grady 18-0 in the second quarter.
Junior Isabelle Sena scored 14 points and sophomore Graci Odom added 10 for Melrose (8-6, 1-2), which got scoring from 10 players. Sophomores Shayla White and December Garza topped the Lady Broncos (6-9, 0-2) with eight points apiece.
In area boys games on Tuesday:
Texico 50, New Mexico Military 41 — The visiting Wolverines broke open a tight game by outscoring the Colts 15-8 in the final period.
Junior Jahvon Askew had 14 points, junior Max Villarreal 12 and senior Cade Collins 10 for Texico (8-5). NMMI (2-7) got 20 points from senior Humberto Romero.
Melrose 69, Grady 33 — Freshman Cy Draper paced four players in double digits for the host Buffaloes with 16 points in a District 6-1A opener for both teams.
Melrose (10-4, 2-1) led 26-20 at halftime before outscoring Grady 26-4 in the third frame. Senior Logan DeVaney finished with 12 points for the Buffs, while senior Brandon Garcia and junior Dathan Yeary added 10 apiece.
The Bronchos (4-13, 0-3) were led by 15 points from senior Jordan Verble.
A District 6-1A boys tilt sending Elida to Gateway Christian was postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.
In a Texas District 3-3A matchup on Tuesday, Muleshoe (6-11, 2-5) posted a 47-43 victory at Friona (11-14, 0-8).
