Radio stations get new owner

Starting Friday Zia Radio Group of Clovis will take to the radio airwaves.

The five-station group had been owned by the Allsup family of Clovis but has been bought by Rick Keefer who had been managing the operation for the Allsups.

The radio group includes 5 stations, KCLV-FM, KTQM-FM, KCLV-AM, KWKA-AM of Clovis and KQTY-FM of Borger, Texas. All call letters and frequency numbers on the radio dial will remain the same with the new licenses.

Keefer, along with his business partner David Lansford, said he will work to enhance efforts to expand the local service and programming to grow the stations. “We will return with promotions to make radio even more fun,” Keefer said.

Last year Keefer was expecting to retire but said he realized he didn’t want to stop doing what he loved most -- provide entertainment and information to the area.

Keefer has been working full time in the radio industry since 1973. Lansford broadcasts Clovis High School sports events.
