Man hospitalized after shooting

A Clovis man is in a Lubbock hospital recuperating from a Sunday shooting incident.

According to Clovis police, Alejandro Alvarado of the 500 block of Hinkle Street was beaten with a baseball bat and shot three times in the incident.

While Alvarado was being treated by medical personnel at the scene, he told police that he was in the kitchen of his home when Gustavo Ramos “kicked down the door to his residence … began beating him with a baseball bat, fired several shots which struck him at least three times.” Alvarado said Ramos stated the debt “has been repaid.”

Clovis police report Alvarado was flown to a Lubbock hospital for treatment that included a gunshot wound to his left arm and two gunshots in his left side.

Clovis police investigating the shooting learned through incident reports that the two men had been in a confrontation before.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Ramos. He is facing charges of assault with intent to commit a violent felony and aggravated burglary.
