New hotel opening in Clovis

A new hotel opens in Clovis next month.

Hampton Inn and Home 2 Suites by Hilton, managed and owned by Ambiance Hospitality of Albuquerque, will open its doors May 1.

“If all deliveries go as planned,” said Latasha Padilla, the hotel’s general manager.

“We wanted to open at the beginning of the year but the pandemic caused delays,” she added.

There will be 79 rooms for the Hampton Inn portion of the building “for regular hotel stays,” Padilla said.

There will also be 70 “Home 2 Suites,” Padilla continued. “These are for long-term guests, perfect for military members and families, long term construction workers.”

Each suite includes a kitchenette with dishwasher and sink, she said.

She also listed the hotel’s amenities.

“We have a large pool, a great big gym, large conference room, a large breakfast area and a laundry facility,” Padilla said. “We also have a large patio with a grilling area.”

Breakfasts at the new hotel will be a bit different from what modern hotel patrons have come to expect.

“Our breakfasts will be served on fine china, not paper plates,” Padilla said.

Some area residents have noticed that the new hotel is not directly on North Prince St., it’s set back a bit from the road. Its address is 224-A Fairway Terrace.

“We already owned the land,” Padilla said. “We wanted it off the highway to give our guests a much quieter space.”

“We’re really excited to join Clovis,” Padilla said.

The new hotel is Ambience Hospitality’s second property in Clovis. The company owns Sleep Inn on Mabry Drive. The company has properties in various cities in New Mexico and west Texas.
