CLOVIS — All five Clovis High Esports teams have earned spots in the playoffs to compete for the New Mexico Activities Association state Esports championship, the school announced in a release on Monday.
The teams include Super Smash, Madden NFL, League of Legends, Mario Kart 8 and Rocket League.
Super Smash was scheduled to be the first of the teams to compete, with a match scheduled for Monday afternoon, with NFL Madden going next on Tuesday. The remaining schedule of matches was yet to be announced as of Monday, the release said.
The tournament is slated to continue over the next two weeks, with finals scheduled for April 23.
