Pleasant Hill Highway Blaze

Fire departments from Clovis and Texico had personnel and equipment on the scene Wednesday afternoon mopping up after a grass fire north of Clovis.

Deputy Fire Chief Fay Craigmile reported the blaze was on the north side of SR 77 "not far from the corn maze."

Craigmile reported Curry County sheriff's deputies were on the scene redirecting traffic due to heavy smoke.

According to Craigmile some structures were threatened by the fire. This is no word at this time as to the amount of acreage involved.
