PORTALES – A Portales man has been charged in a shooting death that happened Tuesday morning.
Armando Jimenez, 26, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter in the death of Justin Banks, 42.
Jimenez is to be booked into the Roosevelt County Detention Center.
Portales Police were investigating the Tuesday morning shooting death of Banks in the 900 block of West 16th Street.
District Attorney Brian Stover said Jimenez turned himself in to authorities.
Stover said the incident was reported to authorities about 7:30 Tuesday morning. Banks and Jimenez both live at the home where the shooting took place.
Stover said Jimenez had been voluntarily talking with police.
