Farwell votes for alcohol sales

Alcoholic beverage sales will be allowed in Farwell, voters decided on Saturday.

Saturday’s vote means mixed and packaged alcoholic beverage sales will be allowed within Farwell city limits.

City assistant secretary Renee Boyd said Monday an official voter tally was not available but the measure did pass.

Also on Saturday’s ballot was a school board election.

Irene Crume who is the secretary to the superintendent at Farwell Schools reported there were seven candidates vying for two positions.

Incumbent Ryan Williams was re-elected while Mario Vidaurri won a seat on the board.
