Police seeking suspect in bank robbery

Washington Federal Bank in Clovis was robbed Friday.

Capt. Roman Romero of the Clovis Police Department reports officers responded to the bank at 2720 N. Prince St. about 10 a.m. on the report of a robbery.

Once on the scene officers ensured the safety of bank staff, more officers searched the area for the robbery suspect, according to a police news release.

The amount of money taken in the robbery is undisclosed.

Romero reports no one was injured during the robbery.

The police department's Special Operations Unit is investigating this robbery. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been notified of the incident.

Police are asking for assistance from the public to help identify the robber.

He's described as a light complected male, who is roughly 5-foot-9 inches to 6-foot tall.

Romero said the suspect was wearing a long sleeve medium brown shirt, tan pants, a light tan hat, eyeglasses, a black in color surgical style mask, and tattoos on the left and right side of his neck.
