CLOVIS – The city’s second bank robbery in 10 days happened Monday afternoon, and Clovis police believe the same suspect committed both crimes.
Clovis Police Lt. Trevor Thron said officers were dispatched to US Bank at 2501 N. Prince St. at 12:35 p.m. for a robbery that had just happened.
Officers arrived on the scene and made contact with employees and customers at the bank, all of whom were physically unharmed during the incident.
The suspect, who matched the description of the suspect involved in the Washington Federal Bank robbery at Manana Boulevard and Prince Street on June 17, came into the bank with a plastic bag, approached tellers, and demanded money.
The suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and left in a black SUV.
Thron said the Federal Bureau of Investigation along with the Clovis Police Department are jointly working on this incident.
The suspect is described as a light complected male, 5-foot-9 inches to 6-feet tall and having neck tattoos. He was wearing a blue, long-sleeved pullover shirt, a cap and white surgical type mask.
The FBI is offering up to a $2,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of this suspect according to a bureau news release.
