Portales church offers new prayer option

The Southside Church of Christ in Portales is offering a walk-in prayer service to the public five days a week, according to Judy Meyer, who organized the walk-in service for the church.

“People are going to need it a lot with inflation and other struggles,” Meyer said.

In a notice about the service, she wrote, “We are offering any member if the community to walk in and receive in-person prayer.”

In addition, the church has opened a small food pantry for use by those in need, Meyer said.

Walk-in prayer service is offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and from 4 p.m to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, she said.

The church is located at 221 W. 18th St., Portales.
