Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
PORTALES -- Eastern New Mexico University’s search for a new chancellor has entered its semi-finalist stage, the university announced Tuesday in a press release.
The field of candidates, which started out with 96 applications, has been narrowed, but university officials did not specify in the news release the number of applicants in the semi-finalist pool.
Earlier this month, the search advisory committee evaluated applicants against the leadership profile they developed, and narrowed the list. The semi-finalists will participate in confidential virtual interviews with the search advisory committee in mid-October, the news release stated.
“Once the confidential virtual interviews are complete with the search advisory committee, the committee will identify five finalists who will be invited to the ENMU campus in November for in-person interviews,” the news release stated.
Over the past few months, ENMU engaged personally with the 96 candidates learning how potential candidates perceived ENMU. “Across the board, candidates expressed admiration for ENMU’s academic excellence, and ENMU’s deep commitment to student-centered education,” the news release stated.
Phillip Bustos, Vice President of the ENMU Board of Regents and head of the search advisory committee, expressed gratitude to the efforts of the search advisory committee to date, and added “I look forward to the involvement of our local and campus communities when the finalists are announced.”
