Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Plans are underway for the annual “Cops & Kids Christmas Event” in Clovis.
According to a news release from Clovis police department captain Robbie Telles local law enforcement will be conducting fundraisers and accepting donations for the annual Cops and Kids Christmas Shopping event.
A related event, the Dollars for Donuts fundraiser will be held at Daylight Donuts, 2201 N Prince on Thursday, Nov. 10 the release states. The police department is asking people to come by between 6:30 am and 8:00 am and buy some doughnuts. All proceeds go to the Cops and Kids shopping event.
Telles reported if people want to contribute to the event, drop donations by the Records Office at the Police Department, 300 N Connelly in a sealed envelope marked with ‘Cops & Kids 2022.’ Checks need to be made out to The Fraternal Order of Police or FOP.
Telles commented by email, “This event is a wonderful event for the community because we help provide a Christmas to children who may not be able to have one.”
Telles sees the event as one that gives local law enforcement the “opportunity to bring smiles to families and children.”
Telles said it also allows for the community to come together.
Telles said the department will be releasing information at a later date on when to pick up registrations for “Cops & Kids” at the Police Department.
