Courthouse entrance moved temporarily

The main entrance to the Curry County Courthouse is going to be different from Monday until this June.

According to a news release from the Curry County Manager Lance Pyle’s office, the entrance relocation is due to the beginning of the next phase of the courthouse addition and renovations and addition.

Entry into the courthouse will be temporarily relocated to the south side of the building off Seventh Street beginning Monday.

The news release reports the construction project is moving into its second phase after recently completing renovations to the Sheriff’s Office.

Work is transitioning to the east side of the courthouse to renovate space for a new courtroom for District Court and a new District Court clerk’s office.

Construction is also continuing on the addition to the north side of the courthouse to create the new permanent entrance into the courthouse from Main Street.

The report said the projected completion date is June 2023.
