All Portales schools shut down until Monday

All Portales schools have been ordered closed until Monday.

According to a Portales Municipal Schools news release, due to the increase of illness and shortage of staff, Portales Municipal Schools administration decided to shut down all campuses for the remainder of this week.

The news release states "School will resume on Monday December 12th. Parents will be contacted by school administration or their child's classroom teacher to provide guidance on instruction during the temporary shutdown."

The news release reported Portales Municipal Schools custodial staff will be working diligently to sanitize all schools during the shutdown.

Parents who have any questions regarding instruction are asked to contact their child's school.
