Superintendent contracts renewed and tabled

The Fort Sumner school board tabled a decision Jan. 9 over the contract of Superintendent Matt Moyer following a 40-minute executive session.

Board Secretary Kerri Webb made the motion to table the contract, saying the Board needed “to work out small details that need to be added.”

Moyer’s current contract runs through June 30 of 2024. He is paid $118,000 per year, receives 12 working days of annual leave and has full use of a school vehicle. He was evaluated by the board in closed session during the December meeting.

Another area superintendent has had his contract renewed.

Superintendent of Dora Schools, Brandon Hays, had his contract renewed for two years at the Jan. 10 session of the Dora School Board.

Hays said his salary terms will be decided later after the legislative session ends in March.

“I’m excited to continue to get to serve Dora schools,” Hays said.
