Lockwood fourth-grader headed to state bee

Julieta Rascon, a fourth-grader at Clovis' Lockwood Elementary School, will be attending the State Spanish Bee following her recent win at the Clovis Municipal Schools Spanish Spelling Bee, according to a news release from Clovis Municipal Schools.

With Julieta coming in First Place, Second Place went to Jesus Gomez, a seventh grader from Marshall Middle School and Third Place went to Ivanna Rivas Santos, a fifth grader at Highland Elementary School.

The New Mexico Spanish Spelling Bee is scheduled to be held in in Albuquerque in April.
