CCC named silver military friendly school

Clovis Community College has earned recognition in 2023-24 for a second consecutive year as a Silver Military Friendly® School by the Military Friendly® Company.

Military Friendly designates schools as “Military Friendly” when they demonstrate that they “strive towards and succeed in the areas that matter most in helping veterans make the transition from the military to school and, ultimately, satisfying careers in the civilian world,” according to a news release from CCC.

The silver designation shows a heightened commitment to bettering the educational landscape and providing opportunities for the military community, the news release stated.

“Clovis Community College is proud to once again receive the Military Friendly School Silver designation. CCC prides itself on providing our active military members, veterans, and their families with exceptional educational opportunities on our campus, online, and at Cannon Air Force Base,” CCC Interim President Robin Jones stated in the news release.

Military Friendly evaluates schools using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Ratings are determined by applying an assessment that measures an institution’s ability to meet standards for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, degree advancement or transfer, and loan default rates for all students and specifically for student veterans. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2023-2024 survey with 665 earning special awards for going above the standard, the news release stated.

“This designation shows our commitment to serving the needs of our military and veteran students and families,” Robin Kuykendall, vice president for enrollment management and student affairs, stated in the news release. Kuykendall added that the application process helps CCC find ways to improve in meeting the needs of military students and other students.

According to its website, Military Friendly is owned and operated by VIQTORY, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business.
