Woman brings international message to Pleasant Hill

A woman who leads an effort to build homes, churches, orphanages and schools in the African nation of Kenya will be bringing her message to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Sunday.

Ronna Jordan established Houses with Hope, a non-profit organization, in 2003.

According to a news release, Jordan’s organization also sponsors U.S. volunteer teams to Kenya.

In 2022 the group started Emmanuel Community Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya which serves a population of over 500,000 people.

According to the news release, in 2018 Jordan’s organization launched “United4Kenya” which is mobilizing resources to lead an initiative to provide water to each region in Kenya, and unify efforts to enable health care, housing, food, and economic opportunities to be accessible to all Kenyan citizens.

Houses with Hope also assists victims of humanitarian crises around the world. In 2014, Jordan received the Humanitarian of the Year award from the Red Cross.

As a recording artist and songwriter, Jordan has recorded six solo projects, written, published, and produced musicals, and has co-written music with other award-winning songwriters and artists.

Jordan will be presenting information on her mission work, Sunday, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at the 10:30 a.m. service.
