Teams needed for Saturday's Great American Cleanup

The Great American Clean-up is happening Saturday.

A news release from the Clovis-Curry County Chamber of Commerce and Clovis Economic Development (CED) is expressing to the community the encouragement for residents to join the City of Clovis and “team up to clean-up” this weekend.

Chamber officials believe this initiative is a great way to show community pride.

The top three teams that bag the most trash win awards.

Registration begins at the Parks & Recreation Department at 7:30 a.m., Saturday.

The report says the Parks & Recreation Department is where participants will also be able to grab cleaning supplies and learn where participants will be cleaning. Donuts and refreshments will be provided at the event to “power you through your route.”

Once assignees have beautified their specified route, Public Works will drive by to pick up bags of trash.

Lunch and an awards ceremony will follow the event; registration and additional information can be found at https://www.cityofclovis.org/cleanup/ or by calling (575)769-7870.
