LUBBOCK – Competing against a mix of Division I and II athletes, Eastern New Mexico University’s track teams set numerous personal bests during Saturday’s Corky-Crofoot Shootout hosted by Texas Tech.
Junior Timothy Frederick ran an NCAA Division II provisional-qualifying time of 10.49 seconds in the men’s 100.
Top finishes for the men came from freshmen Alex Williams, third in javelin at 208 feet, 6 inches, and Noe Ybaben, seventh in shot put at 43-5 ¾. Williams also posted a D-II provisional qualifying mark.
For the women, senior Kaylyn De La Rosa finished seventh in the 800 in 2 minutes, 22.94 seconds while the 400 relay team of sophomore Malia Sanchez, sophomore Kiara Cox of Clovis, freshman Mahault Lebrun and freshman Ashlynn Evans came in fourth in a time of 49.36 seconds.
