Eastern New Mexico University football fans will be able to enjoy something new this coming football season: Game Day tailgating tents.
Fans may reserve their tents for a single game or season now, according to an ENMU news release.
ENMU Athletic Director Paul Weir believes giving fans the opportunity for a tent, tables and chairs of desired sizes waiting for them in a secure location will help fans "embrace our spectacular football game-day experience," according to the news release.
The news release reports tailgating tents will be located in a grassy area between the practice field and the tailgating parking lot.
In the news release, Weir writes, tailgating tents are available in small, medium and large sizes.
"A small group purchase provides a tent, along with up to three tables and up to 25 chairs. A medium group package is up to six tables and up to 50 chairs," Weir wrote in the release, and the largest available option will feature a tent, up to 10 tables and 50 chairs.
Tailgating tent use for a single game will range in price from $175 to $475, while season passes prices range from $750 to $1,600.
Weir outlined the Greyhounds' fall football home game schedule:
• Aug. 31 vs. New Mexico Highlands – 6 p.m.
• Sept. 16 vs. Western Oregon – 12 p.m.
• Sept. 30 vs. Angelo State – 6 p.m.
• Oct. 21 vs. Texas A&M-Kingsville – 6 p.m.
• Nov. 4 vs. West Texas A&M – 12 p.m.
"We are so grateful for (Chancellor James) Johnston's support in creating this endeavor. It is incredibly exciting to initiate an opportunity for fans to reserve a tailgating space at ENMU football for the first time ever," Weir stated in the news release.
