Clovis man receives 17-year prison sentence

A Clovis man on Monday was sentenced to nine years in prison, which will run consecutively with the 8-year sentence he received for an attempted jail escape.

According to a news release from District Attorney, Quentin Ray:

• On Sept. 28, Clovis police received information that Tevyn Driever, 27, had cut off his ankle monitor, which was in a trash can near Seventh and Hull streets.

• CPD officers, with help from the Adult Probation and Parole office, located Driever near Tennessee Street. A search warrant was executed for the car where Driever was found, and they discovered distribution amounts of fentanyl. A search warrant was also executed on Driever's phone where officers found messages where Driever was offering to sell fentanyl.

District Judge Drew Tatum presided over Monday's hearing and sentenced Driever to nine years in the Department of Corrections to run consecutively to the eight-year sentence he is currently serving for tampering with evidence related to an attempted jail escape.
