Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Partners in a coffee shop/bakery named “The Blend” plan on having their “soft opening” Saturday at their location on North Prince Street.
Ashley Lubera and Meghan Gemmell are the partners. In an email, Lubera noted Gemmell will be opening the bakery portion of The Blend.
Lubera wrote she was inspired to start the coffee business because of the importance of the beverage in her life.
“Being a coffee lover, and it being a daily necessity, I wanted to open up something unique that we could call our own,” Lubera wrote.
Lubera noted that she’s been self-employed for four years but has never owned her own business.
“I worked at a nutrition club and once new owners took over, they decided they didn’t need me anymore. So this is giving me the opportunity to still serve people in our community and not have to worry about losing my job again. Being my own boss is going to be great,” Lubera wrote.
Lubera said the goal of the business is to make The Blend “an enjoyable spot to enjoy a variety of drinks and bakery items.”
Lubera listed a number of items that will be served at The Blend.
“Coffees, teas, boba, smoothies, and tons of bakery items including Meg’s ‘New York-ish’ cheesecakes,” Lubera wrote.
The new business is at 2901 N Prince St.
“Our hours are going to be Monday through Friday 7 to 4 and Saturdays 8 to 2,” Lubera wrote.
She noted the hours may change in the future.
