Obituary: Alvin Swann

Alvin Swann, age 84, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, 10:00 am at Mission Garden of Memories, 2900 W. 7th Street, with Robert Thornton officiating.

Alvin was born on October 19, 1938, to Clemons William Swann and Annie Belle Capps Swann in Wilson, Texas. Alvin moved to New Mexico at a young age where he met his love of 65 years. Thelma recently passed away on August 25, 2023, now they are reunited once again. He enjoyed coyote hunting with his Greyhounds, watching bull riding, raising livestock, and telling stories. Alvin loved driving a truck over the road.

Alvin is survived by three children; Sharon (Philip) Null, of Melrose, NM, Gary Don (Stacy) Swann, Patricia (George) Andrews, both of Clovis, NM, one sister; Doris Pijanoaski of Bossier City, Louisiana, grandchildren; Sonny (Heather) Tunnel, Savanna (Jeremy) Flack, Kyle (Kim) Swann, Chelsea Swann (Staump), Dustin Swann, Laramie Lambert, Shanae (Chancey) Thomson, eight great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; Clemons William Swann and Annie Belle Capps Swann, grandson; Shannon “Bubba” Tunnel seven sisters; Betty Brown, Venoy Price, Peggy McPherson, Eva Gillean, Evie Thornton, Loretta Dudley, Marlene Gibson, one brother; Paul Swann and baby; Sharon Swann. Alvin had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.
