Portales man located after Silver Alert

An 85-year-old Portales man has been found after Portales police issued a Silver Alert on Monday.

Bill Bailey was last physically seen on Sunday after a church service and was last heard from at 7 p.m. on Sunday, prompting the alert.

Portales Police Chief Christopher Williams said Bailey was found late Monday night or early Tuesday morning “outside of Clovis.”

Williams said he did not know exactly where Bailey was found or what condition he was in.

Attempts to reach family were not immediately successful on Tuesday.
