Mall Halloween store doing brisk business

Things are going well for a recently opened Halloween store in the North Plains Mall according to the store’s manager.

“Spirit Halloween is a consignment store, part of the nation’s top Halloween retail franchise,” General Manager Marrissa Sena said.

Sena said the Clovis Spirit Halloween store is part of a group of the stores located in the west, one out of 17 owned by a separate company that handles employees and locations.

“The Spirit Halloween franchise owns over 1400 stores in North America. 80% are corporate owned, 20% are consignment,” Sena said.

Sena said Spirit Halloween is a novelty retailer.

“We carry costumes, home decor, yard decor, make up, accessories as well as lighting, props and collectibles. Anything from cute and cuddly to big and bloody,” Sena said.

Sena’s favorite thing to sell during the Halloween season is the store’s animatronics.

“There are so many families that come in and enjoy talking and showing us their Halloween set ups. I really enjoy giving ideas and selling them the latest addition to their collection,” Sena said.

Spirit Halloween’s location is on the mall’s east side, in the space once occupied by the Beall’s and Stage stores. It’s a temporary set-up.

“Our last day open will be November second. We do end of the season sales Nov. 1 with 25% off, Nov. 2 with 50% off,” Sena said.
