OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Christian finally played at home for the first time this season on Friday night, and the Eagles celebrated with a 25-23, 25-19, 25-21 win over Eastern New Mexico University in the Lone Star Conference volleyball opener for both teams.

Freshman middle blocker Camryn McGough posted 10 kills for OC (7-5 overall), while junior setter Lauren McClure notched 30 assists.

ENMU (8-6) was led by eight kills and four block assists from senior outside hitter Mikaela Garvin, while senior middle hitter Gracelyn Stubbs compiled six kills, three block assists and 19 set assists. Senior libero Getsemani Carrasco finished with a match-high 15 digs.

Game 1 went back and forth and was tied 11-11, then again at 22-22 before an ace by junior setter Rainey Aven keyed a set-ending 3-1 run for the Eagles.

The Greyhounds led 3-0 in the second canto before McGough took over, gathering seven of her kills in the set. The Eagles built a 19-11 lead en route to a 2-0 advantage in games.

Freshman outside hitter Kathryn Christie opened the third set with a pair of kills. Back-to-back aces from freshman defensive specialist gave OC a 22-17 lead, and McGough closed it out with her final two kills.

The Hounds were slated to play at Arkansas-Fort Smith on Saturday. They open their LSC home slate with matches against Texas-Tyler at 6 p.m. on Friday and against Dallas Baptist at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Greyhound Arena.

ENMU 1, Dallas Baptist 0 (men’s soccer, Wednesday) – Freshman midfielder Ignacio Lopez broke through for a goal in the 59th minute and the Greyhounds held to blank Dallas Baptist in a non-league matchup of Lone Star Conference squads.

Freshman goalkeeper Hugo Sacco, playing his first match of the season, collected three saves for the shutout, one coming on a point-blank, one-on-one attempt by the Patriots (3-3) in the 15th minute of the match. It was the Greyhounds’ first shutout of the campaign.

ENMU (2-3-1) took control after halftime, posting three corner kicks and a pair of shots in the first 10 minutes. Lopez then cut in front of a sloppy Dallas Baptist pass and found the bottom left corner of the net, the Hounds’ only shot on goal in the contest.

ENMU was slated to host Texas A&M International on Saturday. The Hounds play St. Mary’s in San Antonio on Wednesday.

Lubbock Christian 2, ENMU 0 (women’s soccer, Wednesday) – The Lady Chaps scored early and late to prevail in the LSC opener for both squads at Greyhound Stadium.

Junior midfielder Kenley Blevins punched a header past ENMU senior keeper Samantha Jeffries in the third minute. LCU (4-1-2 overall) added insurance in the 73rd minute when junior defender Avery Jennings scored from more than 30 yards out on an assist by junior midfielder Hannah Irons.

The Lady Chaps limited ENMU to one shot on goal, while Jeffries was credited with two saves in the contest.

On Saturday, the Hounds were slated for a conference match at Texas-Tyler. ENMU visits Midwestern State on Wednesday.
