Man jailed after fleeing Clovis police

A Clovis man was jailed Thursday after leading police on a vehicle and foot pursuit.

Timothy Gore, 31, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, along with two other felonies. He was being held without bond Friday in the Curry County Adult Detention Center.

The incident began about 5 p.m. Thursday when police pulled over the pickup Gore was driving as he exited North Plains Mall. Records show police had "active warrants for his arrest."

Gore stopped, but as the officer approached, Gore turned the vehicle toward the officer, went over a median and fled northbound on Prince Street, according to a criminal complaint.

The Gore vehicle went west on Llano Estacado, then south on Thornton Street to 21st Street, where it ran a red light, causing a traffic accident, the complaint shows.

When Gore's vehicle "ran another vehicle off the road at the intersection of 14th and Prince streets, police ended the pursuit, according to the court record.

Police units then saw the pickup pull into the driveway where Gore was known to be staying in the 900 block of Plains. A woman who had been a passenger in the vehicle when the pursuit began was driving and she told police that Gore had exited the vehicle and she last saw him running toward a local hardware store.

Police ultimately learned Gore had returned to the home on Plains, where he was taken into custody after another short foot pursuit, records show.

No injuries were reported during the pursuit. An 11-year-old child was in the pickup, which resulted in an abuse of a child charge.
